Step 1: go to http://skype.com and download the version you need (Mac or Windows)

 

Step 2: Install Skype by double clicking on the installation file you just downloaded

 

NOTE: Once Skype is installed, there a a few basic settings you should adjust to protect your privacy:

 

Step 3: Click on Tools / Options

 

On the General Settings tab, make sure these two boxes are selected.

Finally, on your ‘Calls’ tab, select this option:
